Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is the main airport of The Netherlands, and the fifth largest in Europe, with 58,285,118 passengers in 2015. It is the home of KLM and the European hub for Jet Airways. Schiphol opened in 1916 as a military airbase, and began to be used for civilian use at the end of the first world war.
