Supply chain 'AI supercluster' welcomes SNC-Lavalin as new member
Canadian contractor SNC-Lavalin has joined the AI-Powered ‘Supply Chain Supercluster’ known as SCALE.AI.
SNC-Lavalin said it will bring investment expertise and specific capabilities to the table, including digital engineering, digital asset management, intelligent mobility, big data and predictive/prescriptive analytics, virtual and augmented realities.
“Our ultimate goal is to contribute to Canadian world leadership in intelligent and sustainable supply chains, enabled by best-in-class applied AI R&D capabilities, said Neil Bruce, President and CEO, SNC-Lavalin.
“We will work collaboratively on specific projects of common interest and strong value-add potential for participants in this industry-led innovation ecosystem.
“Our recent acquisitions of Atkins and Data Transfer Solutions means we have enhanced capabilities in this area to bring to this collaboration for Canada."

SNC-Lavalin's participation and engagement in the supercluster will allow the organisation access to partners in Artificial Intelligence, experience further digital integration of finance, design and the physical stages of asset's construction, gain efficiencies in project execution and develop long-term digital skills, benefitting both the organisation and Canada.
Last week, the Government of Canada announced it has selected SCALE.AI as one of five winning industry-led proposals in its Innovation Superclusters Initiative.
Ottawa will support the five superclusters with a total investment of $950mn over five years.
Nearly 120 industrial partners, enabling organisations, and world-class research institutions have joined forces to the consortium under Canadian industry leadership.
“SCALE.AI is a fantastic vehicle to rally firms of all sizes, world-leading academic institutions such as IVADO and the University of Waterloo, and the broader ecosystem around a shared and disruptive strategy,” said Tristan Mallet, principal at The Boston Consulting Group in Montreal and seconded to SCALE.AI as its interim CEO.
