BreakthroughFuel has been awarded the prestigious Winning Through Innovation ward from Unilever at the company's first North American Partner to Win event in New York City.

The award recognises BreakthroughFuel's efforts for partnering with Unilever to develop and execute a fuel management strategy that provides metrics and market insights to reduce the costs, consumption and emissions of energy used to ship Unilever's products throughout North America.

Marika Lindstrom, Vice President Procurement Operations North America and Latin America, Unilever said:  "This event presented us with a fantastic opportunity to recognise some outstanding examples of true excellence in our suppliers, who are leaders in their fields.”

The event in New York was part of a series in Unilever Global's Partner to Win program. Previous events were held in London, Istanbul, Durban, Mumbai and Jakarta.

"We are honoured to be recognised by an outstanding global company like Unilever, especially in the field of innovation," said Craig Dickman, Breakthrough Fuel CEO and Chief Innovation Officer.

"It's very gratifying to assist Unilever in rethinking how it approaches fuel costs and in implementing new strategies and tools to improve supply chain effectiveness. We enjoy working with such a highly recognised brand and we thank them for this award."

Breakthrough Fuel , which has its headquarters in Green Bay, WI, is a supply chain management and transportation energy advisory firm, with patented processes, that help shippers understand and manage transportation energy lifecycles and costs.

Since its inception in 2004, Breakthrough Fuel has helped shippers manage more than 1.5 billion gallons of fuel, saving clients in excess of $300 million. The company’s client list includes some of North America's largest companies.
