The third-party logistics company will operate PepsiCo’s new 450,000 square foot distribution center in Tacoma, WA.
In a bid to consolidate its supply chain, the beverages company recognized that it needed to expand its network by opening a distribution center in the Pacific Northwest.
The Tacoma operations will ramp up from September 1, with first customer shipments on October 31, 2010.
Jacobson said that the additional center will expand its partnership with PepsiCo to now operate five distribution centers and 2.5 million square feet nationwide.
The Tacoma location also adds a fourth distribution center into the Pacific Northwest for Jacobson.
The partnership between the two companies has lasted for over three decades. PepsiCo stated that this latest contract is in recognition of Jacobson as a high quality, service oriented provider.
