DHL Supply Chain has opened a new 32,000 square metre distribution centre in Sydney’s western suburb of Horsley Park, marking the fourth addition to the company’s industrial campus, and representing a £20.5 million investment in the latest phase of work.

The new facility caters for three key retail customers, and will be fitted out with a fully automated retail solution in April of 2015. Developed by Goodman for DHL Supply Chain, it offers customers warehousing and transportation services.

Terry Ryan, CEO, DHL Supply Chain South Pacific, said: “Campus is home to many of our consumer, retail, technology and healthcare customers and features some of our most innovative customer solutions and environmentally sound outputs.

“Annually we have taken upwards of 30,000sqm of industrial real estate since 2009 and will continue expansion to support Australian market growth. Today, in Australia, we manage over 500,000sqm of warehousing.”

Campus is a DHL Supply Chain’s exclusively leased Australian industrial park which spans 18 hectares. It employs more than 500 people and offers 90,000sqm of warehousing, with the overall investment now totalling £70.3 million.

The facility features sky lighting, energy efficient air conditioning systems, solar hot water heating, rainwater usage, and energy efficient lighting. It is expected to offer new employment opportunities for up to 200 people.
