The Global Supply Chain Finance Forum has appointed its new Chair, Christian Hausherr.

The forum is an initiative comprising of the ICC Banking Commission, Bankers Association for Finance and Trade (BAFT), the Europe Banking Association (EBA), Factors Chain International (FCI), and the International Trade and Forfaiting Association (ITFA).

The forum, which was introduced in 2014, has appointed a Deutsche Bank’s European Product Head of Supply Chain Finance as its Chair.

“SCF is one of the fastest growing trade products, and while uptake of the Standard Definitions has been promising so far, further work is required to ensure alignment across a complex ecosystem of stakeholders involved in international supply chains,” stated Hausherr.

“Recent developments in the accounting treatment of some techniques have also underlined this need for engagement, and I am delighted to be leading this important initiative.”

The forum was established to develop, publish and champion agreed standard market definitions for Supply Chain Finance.

Hauscherr played a prominent role in drafting Standard Definitions and the Wolfsberg/ICC/BAFT Trade Finance Principles.
