E2open,a leading provider of cloud-based solutions for collaborative execution across global trading networks, has been named the winner of the 2012 Supply Chain Distinction Awards North America in the Solution Implementation category. E2open was recognized for “going above and beyond in its contributions toward supply chain improvement” at Lenovo, as described in a detailed case study published earlier this year.

"We congratulate E2open on winning this award," commented Jon Pershke, Vice President, Business Transformation/IT, Global Supply Chain at Lenovo. "Their contributions to our supply chain and our business have been tremendously valuable, and we are pleased to see their efforts recognized by the industry."

"At E2open, we take pride in not only addressing our customers' supply chain challenges but also adding strategic business value," said Mark Woodward, President and CEO, E2open. "We partnered with the Lenovo team to break down technology barriers and deliver cloud-based solutions that enable seamless information sharing, process management, and collaborative exception management—with tangible, positive impact on KPIs and the bottom line."

According to the case study, "The cloud-based solutions offered by E2open have added significant value to Lenovo’s global supply chain operations in a number of key areas. First, the any-to-any platform extends value to trading partners immediately. This platform has also cut costs associated with testing and infrastructure maintenance. Second, the streamlined procurement processes have enhanced automation and collaboration and have helped to protect the confidentiality of pricing agreements. Lastly, the E2open solution has enabled the convergence of physical and digital supply chain networks to enhance control over operating system software activation keys and to reduce the risk of error or fraud."

The Supply Chain Distinction Awards North America celebrates excellence across the most important disciplines of supply chain management. This year’s winners were announced at the Supply Chain Distinction Awards North America 2012 gala held in conjunction with The Supply Chain & Logistics Summit 2012 on December 4.
