Leading logistic solutions provider Freightgate has a new product offering which claims to allow shippers to manage their procurement processes considering more than the price.

The on-demand cloud solution claims to reduce ocean freight spend by 15 percent through supporting the complete procurement lifecycle, including RFQ preparation, bid rules and mailing. The solution also offers scenarios which analyse each bid to calculate the total transportation spend in relation to other attributes such as transit-time or service across multiple RFQ rounds, calculating the automated awards to the ocean freight providers with the best price and service combination while saving time and mitigating risks.

According to Freightgate, the Logistics Cloud Procurement Solution reduces ocean freight spend by 15% or more, utilising best-in-class sourcing to manage RFQ lifecycle with visibility to quickly compare bids, rates and routings. A statement released by the company claims that both bottom line and service performance improvements can be achieved, and that the software solution can be connected to most backend ERP systems.

Freightgate’s procurement solution assists shippers in sourcing the most competitive freight rates from ocean container carriers and NVOCC’s. Transportation contracts can be seamlessly integrated into the Freightgate Universe for rate management, invoice audit and capacity management.
