Misumi Group turns to the cloud to manage its supply chain

Globally present manufacturer Misumi Group has deployed a cloud-based B2B platform to manage its sourcing, procurement and management of its production materials.

The company manufactures and distributes mechanical and electrical components and is based in Tokyo, Japan but has a supply chain covering 18 facilities worldwide. Misumi Group is now using OpenText’s system to manage the volume of its customers, partners and suppliers, as well different B2B standards and procedures.

The rationale behind adopting this particular platform was to enable the company to manage both its domestic operations and to expand its presence in globally. By using the OpenText Trading Grid, Misumi Group has been able to focus increasingly on driving efficiencies and improvements across the board.

OpenText Trading Grid, part of the OpenText Cloud, offers B2B integration that deploys technology for enterprises to connect to their business partners quickly, securely and efficiently. With a high level of scalability, it can manage the digital business network for entire multi-national B2B ecosystem and can also handle a smaller subset of selected projects, regions, or trading partner relationships.

Furthermore, the solution allows its users to exchange documents using EDI, XML, fax, and email to automate procure-to-pay business processes. The OpenText cloud processes over 16 billion transactions per year and has been adopted by 600,000 businesses around the world.
