Serco wins $14m U.S. Air Force logistics contract
Serco Inc has been awarded a task order to support the U.S. Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), Logistics Directorate with support for depot maintenance programs
The contract, to provide analytical, technical and programmatic support for depot maintenance management oversight problems, is valued at approximately $14 million over two years, one base year and one option period.
Under this task order, Serco said it will support a new series of initiatives to increase the productivity of the weapon systems, shorten time spent in depot maintenance, improve future defense program planning, enhance execution of new weapon systems depot maintenance workload, improve legacy information and data system operations, with a goal to reduce costs for the war fighter.
Gary Zuber, Vice President of Air Force Logistics Systems, Serco, said that the company provides “proven, high-quality” solutions to the Air Force, adding that it was “honored” to have been chosen for the new contract.
It currently supports the AFMC in the areas of logistics systems and network engineering and integration, software and web-based application development, data management and warehousing, information assurance, training, and acquisition and program management.
Serco expects to hire an additional 20 employees to its workforce.
