Freight forwarding leaders form global alliance
Four Soft Ltd is bringing together the top players from the logistics industry to form a strategic initiative, the Freight Forwarding Industry & Four Soft Alliance (FFIFA)
India’s software solutions provider, Four Soft, said the FFIFA will provide a forum for the exchange of ideas. The resultant ‘best industry practices’ will save the industry time, energy and money, to provide better services.
Five of the world’s largest logistics players, DHL, Geodis Wilson, CEVA, Agility and Continental Group, have come together as part of the alliance.
Over the years, Four Soft believes, the freight forwarding and logistics industry has been struggling with a lack of unified and standard business processes/metrics, resulting in high operating costs and making the industry less competitive.
FFIFA members will collaborate to evolve standard business practices across multiple tiers and geographies.
Palem Srikanth, Chairman of Four Soft Ltd, said: “Logistics and transportation industry has been facing serious problems due to lack of standardised business processes.
“It has made them less competitive and led to lack of control on their IT budgets. We believe this is the right time for leading players of the industry to come forward and adopt a collaborative approach to the common industry problems.”
