STX Canada’s new vessel design will mark a new generation of coastal marine transportation

STX Canada Marine, a consulting naval architecture and marine engineering company, has contracted Roadships Holding to aid them in the design and development of a high-speed monohull roll-on/roll-off vessel.

The vessel’s design will focus on water, waste, energy, emissions and sustainability, the company reports. According to David McMillan, STX Canada Marine President, the new project fits into the green initiatives of its parent company, STX Europe. The vessel marks a new generation of coastal marine transportation, he adds, that will have less impact on the environment.

STX Canada Marine provides all aspects of ship design and production technology, and total equipment and service packages to support offshore and domestic shipbuilding activities transportation, economic and technical feasibility studies research, and analytical investigations model test and full scale trials.
